Lake Lanier is the largest lake in the state, and was the site of the 1996 Summer Olympics Rowing and Sprint Canoe/Kayak Venue. It offers many opportunities for recreation. The spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains are less than an hour away, and Atlanta, with all its attractions, is only an hour away in the opposite direction.
